 Education:
- I graduated from Utah State University-UBBC with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Human Development.
Professional Work Experience: - I have been working with at-risk youth for about six years now. I started out working as a front line staff in a residential treatment center that accepted young men ages 13-17. After approximately one year I was promoted to Staff Director. At that point I was in charge of hiring and training staff.
- After approximately two years of working at the residential treatment center I was hired on part time as a transport agent with another agency. I would fly to student's homes and pick them up and take them to a program of their parents choice.
- I worked with both companies for about two years, and then started doing transports privately. I ran that company for one year doing approximately one or two transports per week again at the same time continuing to work at the residential treatment center.
- I then got hired on full time with AVW as the Field Director. I am in charge of hiring and training staff. Also I am in charge of making sure the students have everything then need in the field to keep them safe.
Interests: I am an outdoor enthusiast. I love riding horses, camping and spending time with my family while in the outdoors. Comments on AVW: The best part of my job is seeing how proud the parents are of the changes that the students have made. It is awsome to see a new student come in and be defiant and try to manipulate their way out of the program, and then 15 weeks later watching them laugh at themsleves because they realize the changes that they had made. AVW has help me grow as a person in the time that I have worked here.
